The Children’s Choir of Bayonne includes two vocal ensembles for young children with a focus on teaching children foundations of music and healthy vocal technique, as well as exposing children to a wide range of musical styles and settings. Children need only come with an interest in exploring their musical selves, no audition necessary to participate.
Choirs meet for 30-45 minutes once per week for 10 weeks per semester. Semesters run from October to December and from February to May (2 per academic year). There will be two performances per year, one at the end of each semester, held in the JCC auditorium. Enrollment is ongoing.
The first semester is from Oct 12 - Dec 14, 2018.

What music can do...
A choral program can do so much more for children’s development beyond music learning and teaching them to sing. Participation in children’s choirs promotes a sense of self-discipline, helps children build friendships, and helps children to better develop a strong sense of community. A children’s choir can provide an inclusive setting where children of all abilities can participate successfully while promoting cultural understanding, acceptance of others and providing an opportunity for children to learn about themselves and each other through music.
